THREE OVERWORKED AND ENDANGERED
SOULS OUT OF DANGER!

On May 3rd, were watching the auction online when this little Morgan mare came through with horribly over grown feet. Only kill buyers were bidding on her, so we placed a bid online and now this girl is safe! The following week we went to the auction in person and were able to bring home two more broken souls.
Our policy is not to target the "good" ones. We never try to outbid another rescue or private buyer. We specifically target the ones that have issues, the ones nobody wants who are most at risk of ending up in a kill pen or slaughter truck. How many horses we can rescue and rehabilitate directly depends on the amount of funds that we have. Please consider sending a donation today! All donations go DIRECTLY to pulling seriously neglected horses at risk of going to slaughter and to pay for their medical expenses. Our goal is to get them rehabilitated and off to new, loving homes. It was a good day to save lives!

On behalf of our VERY grateful rescued animals, Thank you so much for your support!
Morgan Mare-Now named Cinder
This is the mare we bought online. She is 21 years old, registered and has amazing bloodlines. Our research found almost her entire history. She was once a very valuable, well bred Morgan who was a lesson horse and loved most of her life until she was dumped somewhere two years ago. That's where her trail ends, but clearly she hasn't had a great life since. She has foundered and her feet will take several corrective trims to even find out if she is still sound.  She seems to have some mental trauma as well and has some trust issues we hope to correct with lots of love and attention.
Haflinger Gelding-Now named Alphie
This is the little Haflinger gelding that we picked up, we believe he has a condition called Stringhalt and he has suffered some pretty severe founder in the past. He has a lot of balance issues and his feet will take a lot of corrective shoeing and he will always need to be on a dry lot.
We do not know yet if he is a candidate for Stringhalt surgery until he is properly evaluated by the Vet. He has some pretty severe issues going on, but we will do everything we can to help him.

Belgian Draft Mare-Now named Annie

We believe that this poor girl has been used as a baby factory her whole life. Her uterus is prolapsing and her muscles are so weak back there that urine is constantly dripping down her back legs. The skin on her legs is raw and burned from this. She was washed up and we are applying Desitin to her legs to create a barrier for now. We are hoping a Caslick procedure will help with this.  She is a very sweet and kind girl and we are so happy to give her a second chance.
