Please read Rain's story under the "Our Horses" (Healing Horses) tab. After her rescue, she was so battered and worn we decided to let her go into foster care to heal. The plan was to bring her home in April to start her training and adoption. Well, change of plans because we just found out Rain is in foal! Dr. M from South Sanilac Vet confirmed it today. We expect an April or May foal. We will be bringing Rain back to the farm within the next week or so to be able to keep a closer eye on her. As everybody knows by now, the farm is totally under water, so we have to make special provisions to be able to bring her home to a safe environment, which we will begin doing immediately. Any financial help would be GREATLY appreciated.

We are looking for a fairly inexpensive two wheeled breaking cart for our large mini,(he's really a short, fat pony), repairs needed ok. If donated, we can provide a tax receipt. Thank you!

If you know somebody who sells on Ebay, please tell them about Ebay Giving Works. They can list their item and donate anywhere from 10% to 100% of the sale of their item to Day Dreams Farm. It's another great way to help our horses and further our mission. Thank you!

Within the next week or so, we will start placing a few items for auction and raffle on facebook as a "test" to see if it's a good way to make some much needed money for the farm. I'm asking everybody on this page to share and ask others to "like" our page to maximize exposure to the auctions. The more likes we have, the more possibilities of making a successful auction, so PLEASE SHARE WITH PEOPLE YOU KNOW! On behalf of our very grateful horses, THANK YOU!

This is Chase wearing a bridle for the very first time. Chase is one of our cases from Onondaga we rescued late last summer. Chase had never been handled except to be tranquelized and roped or thrown. He didn't even know how to lead and was afraid of EVERYTHING. He now walks, trots and whoas on a lunge line with a bridle and saddle and he has more heart than most horses I work with that have been handled their entire lives. This horse will literally physically shake he is so scared, but if I tell him something is ok, he will trust me and try it. He makes me so proud every day.

As seen in the pictures (and the pictures really don’t even tell the story) the mud and water at the rescue farm is not only inconvenient, it’s downright dangerous. This is the first time in 12 years it’s been even close to this bad. The mud in some spots is over 2 feet deep and we literally have skating ponds all over the pastures, making it dangerous for the horses should they slip and fall. We have no indoor, just very small stalls and a muddy turnout shed. This is why we had to move some of our horses to a local boarding barn. We have EXACTLY enough money in our account to pay for board for February. After that, we are tapped out. We are pulling out all the stops to raise money to keep them at the facility through April or through March at the very least. Last year we rescued, rehabbed and placed 25 horses. This year our goal is 30. But my FIRST priority and responsibility is to make sure the horses we have now are SAFE. They trust me to do right by them and I will keep them safe even at my own expense. We have plans in place to alleviate the mud and water this year so we don’t have to do this again next year, but we can’t start working on that until the land is dry. Please spread the word and help us. If you check out other pages on the this website, you’ll see the many ways to help us raise money for the horses. Thank you, Lisa.

Want to know another great way to help our mission? Donate your bottles and cans to us instead of taking them back to the store. We have decided to start a can drive to help raise money for the farm. Our long term goal is to do monthly pickups all around the area, but for the short term, we have set up a water trough for drop at the farm. We may also be able to arrange pickups if we happen to be in your area. If interested, please call 810-335-4183 or email me at daydreamsfarm@yahoo.com.

This is Chase, the Onondaga Gelding we rescued with the two starving mares last August. Chase didn't even know how to lead when we picked him up. He had barely been handled and was only been roped and thrown his entire life to be handled at the breeding farm. He has deep trust issues, but is getting better every day. He is now lunging and being saddled. For everything he's been through in his shor...t life, he wants to trust SO badly. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. I sincerely believe that he will end up being an amazing equine partner for someone. He is available for adoption only to someone with training experience who has time to spend with him every day. He is 5 years old and about 15 hands. We will continue his training until he is adopted. For an adoption application, please email daydreamsfarm@yahoo.com

Here is Hope, Ed and Me the very first time I sat on her last night. She was AWESOME! Hope is one of the starvation cases we took on August 24 from Onondaga. She was a broodmare most of her life and had never been trained to ride. She is a 14 year old registered Standardbred Mare. She has a terrific, outgoing personality and is up for adoption to someone who has horse training experience. We feel she will make an excellent trail and family horse. We will continue her training until she is adopted.

Hope is up for adoption! She is one of the starvation cases we took from Onondaga last August. She's been getting some training and has been doing great! She will make somebody a terrific trail horse project. She really needs to move on to a home with an individual person with horse training experience who can continue to bring out the best in this horse. For an adoption application, please email daydreamsfarm@yahoo.com. For more details about her, visit the "Hope" page under "Available Adoptions" located under the "Our Horses" tab.

All the horses are moved to a farm close by with an indoor. Now the work begins because they all need to be worked and trained! But at least now we have a place to do it. Spirit, Lego and the donkeys were left behind at the farm and we built a makeshift pasture that will keep them out of the deepest mud and off the ice. We will be moving all of our stuff this afternoon, so anybody who wants to help, please feel free to come on out. Thank you to EVERYBODY who donated the money to make this move possible. As of right now, we can keep the horses there for the month of January and February and I plan on teaching a few lessons again to keep more money coming in.
