It is with heavy hearts that we must announce we are officially cancelling this year’s Ice Cream Social (originally scheduled for August 18th). We cannot begin to express how devastating it is having to cancel yet another fundraising event, especially since we currently have 14 equines in our care.
Since March, our vet bills have topped over $3,000, farrier care over the last few months has topped well over $1,000, and buying enough hay to get us through the winter is running about $6,000. But with so much uncertainty surrounding the current climate, we simply cannot afford to risk ourselves, our team members, or our community.
Unfortunately, at this point it is also likely our Halloween Spooktacular will also be cancelled. That will be the biggest blow yet to our funding, as it is the largest event of the year for us. Those who have attended our previous Halloween Spooktacular knows how much it means to us.
We are keeping our fingers crossed that we will be able figure out something to help with funding, so look out for future posts! We know times are tough for everyone right now, but relying 100% on donations during a time when we are unable host events is frustrating. We are working very hard behind the scenes taking care of our animals and coming up with a plan to move forward.
We just want to say thank you to all of our supporters and donors for keeping us going during these tough times. Seriously, without you, there would be no us, Day Dreams Farms. THANK YOU! We will all get through this together. We can’t wait to see our supporters again in 2021!
